Nestled on a picturesque, irregularly shaped wooded lot in the prestigious Hamptons, the 7,000-square-foot Victory Lap Residence stands as a testament to thoughtful design and future-forward living. Conceived by The Up Studio, who masterfully handled both the architectural and interior architecture, this home is more than just a dwelling; it’s a meticulously crafted environment designed for an active couple to thrive and gracefully age in place.
A Grand Vision for Multi-Generational Living
The clients, an energetic couple with a clear vision, sought a home that could serve as a vibrant hub for family, friends, and community gatherings, while also providing the comfort and adaptability needed for their later years. The Up Studio responded with an ingenious layout. The primary suite, along with the kitchen, dining room, and main living area, are all conveniently located on the ground floor. This strategic single-level arrangement not only supports current daily living but also thoughtfully anticipates future needs, allowing for seamless live-in elder care if required. Above the main gathering space, a dramatic pitched roof soars, cleverly nearly doubling the second-floor area while adhering strictly to local zoning regulations. The upper level offers a serene escape, featuring a private guest suite and two dedicated offices, complete with terraces that provide tranquil views of the surrounding woods and the sparkling pool.
Harmonizing with Nature and Light
A cornerstone of The Up Studio’s design philosophy was an unwavering respect for the natural landscape. The home was meticulously positioned to preserve the property’s mature trees, integrating the structure seamlessly into its sylvan setting. A distinctive rear wing thoughtfully traces the sun’s daily arc across the site, ensuring optimal natural light throughout the day. Its expansive glass doors dissolve the boundaries between indoors and out, opening onto sheltered outdoor spaces that maintain a profound connection to the verdant surroundings. The residence further extends its living areas outdoors with inviting covered dining and seating zones, perfect for al fresco entertaining or quiet contemplation.
Wellness Woven into the Fabric of Home
Embracing a holistic approach to well-being, Victory Lap Residence integrates a comprehensive wellness program that fluidly transitions between interior and exterior realms. Beyond the inviting pool and soothing hot tub, an outdoor shower offers a refreshing connection to nature. Inside, a state-of-the-art home gym is ingeniously designed to open up to the landscape year-round, blurring the lines between workout and natural immersion. This dedication to health and vitality ensures that the home supports a lifestyle of active living and rejuvenation.
A Symphony of Natural Materials and Refined Interiors
The exterior of Victory Lap Residence makes a striking statement with Brava siding, which elegantly clads both the facade and the impressive roof gables, creating a cohesive and visually arresting aesthetic. This commitment to continuity extends to the interior, where a carefully curated palette of natural, low-maintenance materials reigns supreme. Warm wood, exquisite stone, and soft, neutral tones create an atmosphere of understated luxury and timeless appeal. Interior design firm Eddie Lee Inc. collaborated on the interiors, bringing their expertise to enhance this sophisticated vision. In the heart of the home, the kitchen, designed for both everyday functionality and grand family gatherings, features sleek flat-panel wood cabinetry juxtaposed against warm stone surfaces, all grounded by rich oak floors. The dining room adds a touch of organic elegance with its beautifully patterned wallpaper.
Balancing Intimacy and Grandeur
Despite its generous 7,000-square-foot footprint, Victory Lap Residence was masterfully conceived to feel intimate and welcoming for a couple, yet effortlessly capable of accommodating larger social gatherings. The result is a home that achieves a remarkable equilibrium, perfectly aligning with the clients’ current vibrant lifestyle while offering the inherent flexibility to gracefully adapt to their evolving needs over the years. It stands as a beacon of modern Hamptons living, where luxury, practicality, and timeless design converge.
