Three standout filmmakers will share their experiences and showcase their short films, which were chosen for screening at Maker Faire Bay Area 2025. Derek Kessler’s “The Device,” Ana Roure’s “Switch,” and David Thulin’s “Scavenger” will be highlighted during the chat. David Thulin’s film, “Scavenger,” took home both the Judges’ Choice and People’s Choice awards.
Special Guest
Joining the conversation is Jesse Velez, owner and lead designer of Raptor House FX. Velez will share his expertise on practical effects in film and offer valuable tips for budding filmmakers.
About the Maker Faire Two-Minute Film Festival
The inaugural Maker Faire Two-Minute Film Festival debuted in 2025, encouraging makers to showcase their skills through cinematic storytelling. The festival featured 120-second entries, with judges including models and miniatures expert Kayte Sabicer, Pixar Senior Assistant to the Director Hannah Chu, and Raptor House FX Lead Designer Jesse Velez.
