– For the eleventh consecutive year, Morocco is making a significant impact at the International Green Week in Berlin, a premier global exhibition dedicated to agriculture, food, and rural development. Running from January 16 to 25, 2026, this annual event in the German capital serves as a crucial platform for nations worldwide to showcase their agricultural innovations and forge international collaborations.

Morocco’s Enduring Presence at Green Week

The Moroccan national pavilion was officially inaugurated by Ahmed El Bouari, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests. The ceremony saw the esteemed presence of Germany’s Federal Minister of Agriculture, Food and Regional Identity, Alois Georg Josef Rainer, alongside representatives from the Moroccan Embassy in Germany and leading professionals from the agricultural sector, underscoring the event’s diplomatic and economic significance.

A Vibrant Showcase of Moroccan Heritage

The Moroccan pavilion is a vibrant testament to the nation’s rich local agricultural heritage. Featuring approximately 20 stands, it proudly represents 20 cooperatives from all 12 regions of the country. Visitors are invited on an immersive journey to discover an extensive array of authentic Moroccan products, from traditional spices and oils to artisanal crafts. Engaging culinary demonstrations and cultural activities offer a deep dive into Morocco’s renowned gastronomy and cherished traditions.

A core focus of the exhibition is to highlight the unparalleled quality, authenticity, and traditional know-how embedded in Moroccan produce. All showcased products adhere to stringent international standards for quality, food safety, and traceability, reinforcing Morocco’s commitment to excellence in its agricultural exports.

Diplomatic Engagements Foster Global Partnerships

Beyond the vibrant displays, Minister El Bouari engaged in a series of high-level bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Green Week and the accompanying Global Forum for Food and Agriculture. These crucial discussions aimed at strengthening international cooperation and addressing shared challenges in the agricultural sector.

Notable among these engagements were talks with Poland’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Stefan Krajewski, and the UK’s Minister of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, Angela Eagle. Conversations centered on vital areas such as enhancing cooperation in agriculture, agri-food industries, ensuring food security, promoting sustainable water management, and adapting to the impacts of climate change.

Forging Stronger Ties: The Poland MoU

A significant outcome of these diplomatic efforts was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Polish delegation. This agreement is poised to significantly bolster bilateral cooperation between Morocco and Poland, specifically targeting advancements in animal health and ensuring the sanitary safety of animal products. Such partnerships are vital for fostering resilient and secure global food systems.

The International Green Week, established in 1926, continues its legacy as one of the world’s foremost exhibitions for agriculture, food, and horticulture, providing an invaluable platform for countries like Morocco to showcase their progress and contribute to global agricultural discourse.
