Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud Announce Multibillion-Dollar Deal
Moreover, Palo Alto Networks and Google Cloud have announced a multibillion-dollar deal that will see the cybersecurity firm migrate its key internal workloads to Google Cloud.
However, the deal is an expansion of their existing strategic partnership and will deepen their engineering collaboration, according to a release.
Consequently, Palo Alto Networks is now using Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence models to power its copilots and Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform.
Key Highlights of the Partnership
Meanwhile, Palo Alto Networks customers will be able to protect live AI workloads and data on Google Cloud, maintain security policies, and accelerate Google Cloud adoption.
Therefore, the partnership will simplify and unify security solutions for Palo Alto Networks customers, the companies said.
Additionally, the deal is expected to increase sales through the Google Cloud Marketplace, with Palo Alto Networks already having more than 75 joint integrations with Google Cloud.
CEO Comments on the Partnership
However, Palo Alto Networks’ shares were up nearly 1% on Friday, while shares of Google parent Alphabet rose less than 1%.
Therefore, the partnership is seen as a positive development for both companies, with Google Cloud President Matt Renner saying it will ensure joint customers have access to the right solutions to secure their most critical AI infrastructure.
Consequently, the partnership will also enable the development of new AI agents with security built in from the start, Renner added.
