Google’s Gemini AI Now Available on Chrome for iPhone and iPad

Google has finally brought its built-in Gemini AI experience to iPhone and iPad, following its rollout on desktop and Android earlier this year. The new feature offers several exciting capabilities, including summarizing pages, creating FAQs on a topic, and modifying recipes to suit dietary needs.

Gemini AI can be accessed by tapping the spark icon at the left of the address bar in Chrome, which replaces the Google Lens camera. This brings up a “Pages tool” that includes Lens and the new “Ask Gemini” feature. Users can then chat with Gemini about the current web page or any other topic, and receive suggestions in the chat box.

Some examples of what users can do with Gemini AI include:

– Summarizing key takeaways from an article
– Explaining complex topics in a different way
– Helping users test their knowledge of a new subject they’re learning
– Modifying recipes to meet dietary needs
– Comparing information or making recommendations based on user preferences

The response to user chat questions will float over the web page, which then shifts to the background. Users can start a new chat from the top right corner, and a Liquid Glass overflow menu will be available.

However, it’s worth noting that Gemini AI in Chrome on iPhone and iPad is only supported in the US with the browser language set to English. Users need to be signed into Chrome and the feature doesn’t work in incognito mode. Additionally, the feature is only available to users 18 and older, and may not roll out to devices immediately.
